Traditions are valuable, and it's important to support each other. At the beginning of September, we celebrated 11 years of collaboration with the wonderful Kedi Välba, whose dedicated efforts have allowed us to be long-term supporters of the Viljandi County Golf Championships. Through this partnership, we have gained invaluable contacts, found new clients, and even caught the golfing bug ourselves! With a little more practice, it’s possible that next year we’ll meet on the course! Until then, we would like to extend our deepest thanks to Kedi for making Viljandi County golf her passion and always keeping us in mind. We wish you all the best and continued success in the future!
Results
On September 1st, at the joint golf championships of Viljandi, Lääne, and Pärnu counties, held at the White Beach Golf Course in Pärnu, the Viljandi County champions were Kersti Klaas and Mart Maidessoo. In the women's category, the competition was extremely close. The Viljandi County champion for 2024 is Kersti Klaas with 86 strokes. Monica Pihlak took second place with 87 strokes, and Rael Taliga-Tavaste came in third with 88 strokes. In the men's category, Mart Maidessoo won the county championship title with 74 strokes, Joel Rothberg took second place with 75 strokes, and Heinu Klaas came in third with 77 strokes. In total, 28 players competed for Viljandi County (20 men and 8 women), and across the three counties, 94 golfers completed the competition.
The traditional birdie special prize from Lepmets & Nõges law firm was awarded this year to Rael Taliga-Tavaste, who placed on the women's podium – congratulations!
Welcome to the team, Laura!
We are delighted to note that, alongside our golf tournaments, another wonderful end-of-summer tradition is emerging – the growth of our team! Just like in previous years, this fall we have welcomed a new and exceptionally talented member – Laura Liset Keerov!
Laura is currently pursuing her master's degree at the University of Tartu on her journey to becoming a lawyer, and her CV is already impressive. Alongside her studies, she has gained valuable experience working in law firms, the prosecutor's office, and the courts. Laura has placed on the podium at the Estonian Moot Court Competition and has made significant contributions to ELSA Estonia, holding various leadership roles.
Laura is fluent in three foreign languages, solution-oriented, proactive, and responsible. In a short time, she has already shown that she is a perfect fit for our team. Thank you for your trust, Laura – together, we will make you a great lawyer!
